Canadian born Francesca Gagnon is one of the most recognizable voices in theater. From her roots in jazz, blues and chanson française, Francesca has earned herself the title of "modern realist singer". "I love when songs have depth, meaning, and intensity, when they approach the tragic!" she claims. During her tours of Morocco, Central Africa and Cameroon, she absorbed the culture, immersing herself in the warm African rhythms and renewed her passion for the discovery of new cultures and new music.
Francesca's destiny was set when she went on to tour the world with Cirque du Soleil, charming audiences and critics alike. Now, Francesca brings all the magic of Cirque du Soleil music to theatres and concert halls.
Drawing from the vast reservoir of Cirque du Soleil music, three-time Grammy Award winner Jorge Calandrelli created ravishing arrangements that evoke the essence and most memorable moments of Cirque du Soleil productions. His past credits include collaborations with Barbra Streisand, Tony Bennett, Céline Dion, Ricky Martin, Luis Miguel, Eddie Daniels and Barry Manilow. He has also composed, orchestrated or arranged music for the films 'The Color Purple', 'Tron' and 'Crouching Tiger Hidden Dragon'.
With an onstage orchestra, guest singers and instrumentalists, FRANCESCA GAGNON - THE VOICE OF ALEGRIA blends the atmosphere of a live concert in a theatrical setting, creating a complete musical and visual experience.
