Tech Statement

June, 2008

Technical and production requirements for Francesca Gagnon-The Voice of Alegria (VOA) have not yet been finalized. Therefore, at present we can only supply an overview of what we expect.

VOA will travel with approximately 18-20 musicians, 5-7 technical crew / stage manager personnel, 1 production manager, 1-2 tour managers and 2-3 drivers.

For sound VOA will require a fully complemented 40-48 channel FOH sound system and we will utilize a combination of wireless microphones and instruments, ambient microphones, direct inputs and regular microphones.

VOA will travel with its own instruments and most likely with its own wireless microphones, vocal microphones, direct boxes and in-ear monitors. At present we do not know what backline, if any, will be required.
Under consideration is VOA traveling with it's own pre-programmed FOH sound board and associated effects racks, snake etc utilizing house amps and FOH speaker system.

VOA will require a separate, off-stage, 32-40 channel monitor system utilizing a combination of monitor cabinets and in-ear monitors.

VOA will utilize all available house lighting inventory. A cyclorama may, or may not, be used. It is undecided whether or not VOA will travel with it's own pre-programmed lighting console, some light inventory or whether the production will require follow spot(s). Light plots will be available in advance and VOA hopes to use pre-programmed lighting software.

It is the producer's intentions to be able to stage VOA using house risers and platforms. However, it may be necessary to construct some risers to meet custom dimensions.

VOA will require house personnel for load in/load out, general set up, monitor console operator and wardrobe person (TBA). House security, electrician, carpenter, sound and lighting personnel should, of course, be present.
