Inti-Illimani Celebrates 45 Years of Music,
Culture, and Life:
Upcoming North American Tours: April 2012 & October 2012...

A 45 year, prolific musical journey now offers this celebrated Chilean ensemble the singular opportunity to cover a pathway full of sounds, along a trajectory of over 400 songs in Inti-Illimani's legendary repertoire. Linked to the past in spirit, the ensemble nevertheless remains current, creative and vibrant, ever-powerful and willing to cultivate a fresh continuity deeply linked to the present reality of both Chilean and Latin-American experience, as well as to the universal human experience we all share.

These spirited pathways that Inti-Illimani have created and maintained remain ever-infused with a musical essence closely connected to the vicissitudes of everyday life in Latin America; its social struggles, its need for identity, the changing colors of its environment, its sensuality, its social inequality, the Exile and long-awaited return to country, and above all, its joie de vivre. Such makes Inti-Illimani's 45th Anniversary Tour a very beautiful opportunity to summon back songs born at the beginning of this incredible adventure, convene with melodies from the middle, and showcase the contemporary Inti compositions of today. This effort culminates in a new tour, a new concert, one that lovingly emphasizes and explores Inti's broad variety of rhythms and instruments, the breadth of vocal and instrumental harmonies, and the evolution of a life work containing many characters, many stories, and many sounds.

Inti-Illimani warmly welcomes you to share in an evening's musical journey, featuring songs from each era of Inti-Illimani's fascinating history.

enDécades
4 Concerts, 11 years~ 44 years of music.

In celebration of their 44 year anniversary, Inti-Illimani recently delighted Chilean audiences with a newly created cycle of concerts entitled enDécades, featuring 4 nights covering 11 years of Inti music each night. The first night began with those early, most traditional pieces in Inti's repertoire (1967-1978), with each subsequent nights pulling inspiration from the following three decades. Incredible, creative and unique, the shows have been highly popular and celebrated, proving their versatility, resilience and esteem as central players in both Chilean and Indigenous musical history.

Inti-Illimani has also modified the concept into a single concert which takes the audience on a musical journey through their 4 decades as a band, as social activists, as individual artists, and as an ever-evolving work-in-progress.

Praise for enDécades

This is undoubtedly a demonstration of versatility...
In general terms, this 4-concert cycle shows a very positive balance. First, with the ability of an ensemble to address its whole history properly and with quality. Second, as a concert with an interesting individual proposal. Third, with the intention of expanding the concept of concerts to be further developed, and four, because Inti-Illimani proves that they have an audience faithful enough to fill a 150-people place 4 times a month with a $32 ticket each time.
