Clarinetist JAMES CAMPBELL and ZAPP STRING QUARTET come together for their Cross Borders tour of Holland and Canada. Holland's most sparkling and hardest grooving string quartet first met Jim Campbell, Canada's most grooving clarinetist, at a festival in the Netherlands in 2005. A musical kinship was immediately formed with Jim inviting the quartet to his Festival of the Sound (Parry Sound, ON) during the summer of 2006 where the collaboration flourished.
Both Campbell and ZAPP, are known for their originality and diversity of programs from classical to jazz, rock and world. Cross Borders is an evening of improvisations from Shostakovich to Gershwin's I Got Rhythm and everything in between...
