Celebrate the 200th Anniversary of the birth of Franz Liszt with Hungary's Adam György
Likened by many critics to Liszt for the virtuosity of his performances, his charm, the physical structure of his hands, and his tremendous interpretive sensibility - Adam György is one of today's "rising stars" [CNN world report] in classical music performance. As with Franz Liszt, Adam György was a child prodigy who began playing the piano at the age of four. In 2004, he swept the First, Grand and Special prizes at The First International Chopin Piano Competition in Budapest. In 2005, he was invited to join the Steinway Artist community, a single honor that places him in the company of many of the greatest pianists of all time, including Vladimir Horowitz, Artur Rubinstein and Krystian Zimmerman. A motto of Franz Liszt was "Genius comes with obligations". Adam has already come to realize that his gift can be used to help others.
