On Tuesday March 24, at the invitation of Peter Gabriel, Inti-Illimani performed Wallflower at the Pepsi Fest 2009 in Santiago to 10000 persons. This collaborative performance was an hommage to Victor Jara.

DHOAD GYPSIES from RAJASTHAN

Hailing from the magnificent and colorful folk traditions of the Thar desert in India s northwest Rajasthan state, the Dhoad Gypsies from Rajasthan deliver an unrelenting cultural feast for the senses.

Artistic director Rahis Bharti embraces the vision of cultural diversity by bringing together several talented musicians and performers, all Rajasthani, but from different communities, religions (Muslim and Hindu), and varying artistic castes. The Dhoad Gypsies of Rajasthan embrace their collective ancestry with the sapera-kalbelya ( fakirs , dancers, performers), langas (bard poets), manganyar (troubadours) and musicians of classic Indian instruments required to offer this most authentic, celebratory performance.
